Even if your journalism class doesn’t have a means for broadcast, you can still help your students get broadcast experience. It’s important today for aspiring journalists to be well-rounded, able to write, talk on the radio and report on television.
Here are some ideas to get your students involved in broadcast.
1. Have your students take turns reading the announcements over the PA system at your school.
2. Assign oral reports on journalism for your students to present.
3. Have your students talk in front of the class about articles they’re currently working on.
4. Create a mock television show, assigning your students to report their written articles as a broadcast.
